Coronavirus Grant Funding: Apply to Your Local Council Now
Local councils are now working with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, implementing the government’s support measures for businesses disrupted by COVID-19.
There are two types of Grants available:
1. Cash Grants for Retail, Hospitality & Leisure Businesses
Businesses operating in these sectors with a rateable value of up to £15,000 can apply for a grant of £10,000. Businesses with a rateable value of between £15,000 and £51,000 can apply for a grant of £25,000
2. Small Business Grants
Businesses occupying property and receiving small business rate relief (SBRR) or rural rate relief (RRR) as at 11 March 2020 can apply for a one-off grant of £10,000 to help them meet ongoing business costs.
Note: To be eligible for these grants, you need to have a business rates assessment – even if your actual bill is zero..
Contact Your Local Council Now!
To claim for grant funding on behalf of your business, you need to contact your local council and make an application. Go to your local council’s website and follow Coronavirus advice links.

Vale of White Horse businesses – go to http://www.whitehorsedc.gov.uk/business/business-rates
